Mazda Teams Up With TomTom for Navigation

When the 2013 Mazda models hit the showroom floor, they'll come with a little extra guidance. Worldwide GPS navigation company TomTom is working with Mazda to provide navigational systems for the MAZDA3 and the forthcoming MAZDA CX-5

Netherlands based TomTom will provide these new models with connections to its navigation solution, enabling dynamic routing based on live traffic updates.

TomTom's Blue&Me LIVE connects via Bluetooth with any compatible mobile or media device. The system uses speed camera information, live weather updates and local search to find various points of interest, and will also be available in newer model Mazdas. This navigation software is currently available on the MAZDA5 in Europe.

Speaking of the collaboration with Mazda, Giles Shrimpton of TomTom observed, "Due to the success of TomTom's connected navigation product on the Mazda5, I am pleased to see it being rolled out on the new Mazda3 facelift model offering customers a great connected in-dash navigation experience. The navigation technology of TomTom is state-of-the-art and very user-friendly - a perfect fit to our brand and our vehicles."1
