Mazda Announces Plans for Four New Redesigns

What could possibly be better than the recently refreshed Mazda3 with SkyActiv technology and an EPA-estimated 27-mpg city/38 mpg highway? How about four completely redesigned new Mazda models in the next two years? That's right, Mazda's Senior VP of U.S. Operations, Robert Davis, recently shared with reporters at Automotive News that we can expect just that.

The automaker unveiled the all-new Mazda CX-5 at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. And now rumor has it that the Mazda6, Mazda3, MX-5 Miata, and CX-9 are all up for major redesigns.  All updates and refreshes should hit the market by 2014, meaning we could see a majorly refreshed model each year from Mazda!

We don't know exactly what these all-new Mazda models will look like, but it will probably follow the design language of the Mazda Shinari - a four door sports sedan concept that the automaker designed to embody the feeling of movement even when it's parked. Mazda is calling this "KODO: Soul of Motion," and it's described as the "powerful yet supple appearance of great resilient force when objects of high-tensile strength such as steel or bamboo, are twisted or bent."1

But Mazda knows it's more about what's on the inside of the car that makes for an impressive driving experience. Each model will feature super-lightweight structural materials, new gasoline and diesel powertrains to boost power and fuel-efficiency, as well as all-new stop-start, regenerative braking and hybrid technologies.

Like we said, you can expect to see these new technologies debuting in many of the new Mazda models rolling into Schaumburg Mazda within the next couple of years. In the meantime, be sure to check out all of the sleek and fuel-efficient models in our showroom, located at 110 W Golf Rd Schaumburg, IL 60195, or contact us via our website to learn more.
